Sytner Group’s North East Mercedes-Benz division has been awarded the German brand’s Retailer of the Year accolade.

The AM100’s number one retail group was recognised for the success of its dealerships in Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland, Teesside and Carlisle at an annual awards event held at Mercedes-Benz World, in Weybridge, Surrey, on Saturday (January 25) night.

Mercedes-Benz Cars UK said in a statement that the business had been chosen due to its “outstanding performance in every area of the business”.

City West Country was awarded the smart Retailer of the Year awardExeter-based City West Country was awarded the smart Retailer of the Year accolade at the same event.

Among the other winners at this year’s annual Mercedes-Benz Cars UK annual awards event were: Lookers Sussex, Loyalty Team of the Year; Western Automobile Company, Workshop 2020 of the Year; Charles Newman, Mercedes-Benz of Watford, Apprentice of the Year; Sytner West, Fleet Team of the Year; Marshall North West, Mercedes-AMG Sales Team of the Year; Lancaster, Used Car Sales Team of the Year; Isaac Agnew, Customer Experience Team of the Year; Sandown Surrey and Hampshire, Aftersales Team of the Year; JCT600, New Car Sales Team of the Year; Sinclair Group, Digital Engagement of the Year.

Mercedes-Benz’s new car registrations were 0.24% down at 171,823 (2018: 172,238) in the UK last year – ending 2019 with a market share of 7.4%.
