The Vehicle Remarketing Association (VRA) is hosting a series of webinars to provide a summary of next year’s prospects in the key areas of remarketing.

Beginning on October 15, there will be six 30 minute sessions, every other week, open to anyone that works in the motor industry.

The first - Possible Coronavirus Scenarios in 2021 with Steve Freeman, head of Automotive at MHA Consulting - will look at how different potential pathways for the pandemic could affect businesses.

While car auctions are currently reporting record levels of sales, the VRA warns there are potential dangers ahead.

VRA chair Sam Watkins (pictured) said: “Every November, we hold our annual VRA Seminar, which is a very popular industry event at which a wide-ranging group of speakers look at the year ahead. Last year, it attracted around 200 delegates.

“Despite the pandemic, we wanted to try and create something similar but are also mindful that there is a degree of webinar fatigue underway. Over the last few months, most of us have spent a lot of time on Zoom.

“The format we have created is designed to pack the maximum amount of information into the minimum time commitment. Anyone who attends all six 30 minute seminars will be comprehensively briefed about remarketing in the next year.

“One of the good things about our usual annual seminar is that it is open to anyone who works in the motor industry and we have decided to continue this offer into the 2021 Outlook Series. It is not just for VRA members.”

Future subjects include The New and Used Car Market in 2021 on November 5, Vehicle Retailing in 2021 on November 19, The Impact of Brexit on the Automotive Industry and The Economic Outlook for 2021 on December 3, and 2021 and Remarketing Infrastructure on December 17.

Speakers will be confirmed within the next few days.
