American electric car brand Fisker is gearing up to start production of the Ocean, its first UK-bound model, in November.

The company has already built 95 prototype Fisker Oceans, which will be used to train service workers, conduct rigorous testing, and showcase the five-passenger, all-electric SUV across nine launch markets.

"It's fantastic to see the quality of the Fisker Oceans currently being manufactured, and to also see them incrementally improving on every visit," said chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker.

"It's rewarding to observe the continuous improvements to manufacturing speed on the assembly line. Our marketing and service teams are thrilled to get their hands on cars before the official production starts so they can thoroughly prepare for deliveries and promote the Fisker Ocean in our launch markets. This phase of assembly marks the onset of improvement and refinement for start of production and through ramp-up."

Subscription firm Onto will be the brand’s first UK customer – and its exclusive vehicle subscription customer – with an order for 700 Ocean models.

The Los Angeles-based OEM plans to have a physical presence in London to showcase the new model as it continues developing its retail network, constructing Fisker Lounges in Los Angeles and Munich and Fisker Center+ locations in Copenhagen and Vienna.

The brand’s UK aftersales and logistical support will be provided by Cox Automotive and Rivus. They will provide outsourced solutions for vehicle delivery, service / maintenance, fleet management, mobile fleet servicing, valuation, trade-in, refurbishment and remarketing.

The Fisker Ocean is priced from £35,000 and provides a range of 250 miles. Longer range twin motor variants will also be offered, with a range of up to 350 miles.
