Independent leasing company UK Carline has appointed former Vertu Motors general manager Paul Lowdon as its new commercial director.

He joins the business from Vertu Motors, where - during a 13-year tenure - he worked his way up to general manager of fleet and lease.

Lowdon is credited for playing an “instrumental” role in the early days of Vertu Motors and for building an industry-leading corporate sales team.

UK Carline is hoping Lowdon’s fresh approach will help drive its business forward by creating new opportunities.

Darren Godbert, managing director of UK Carline, said “We have seen our company transform over the last 12 months with added focus on key departments within UK Carline.

"Being able to adapt and change quickly to cater for the ever-changing demands and needs of our customers is paramount to our growth, more so now with the disruption caused by the Coronavirus.

“Our aim is to provide our customers with dedicated skilled teams that can offer our customers solutions that fit perfectly with their own plans and ideas.

"Our agility along with strong leadership throughout the company sets us apart from our competition and Paul’s appointment is paramount to our future.”

Lowdon has more than 28 years’ experience within the motor trade and vast knowledge and experience of all areas of the vehicle supply chain.

He said: “I am delighted to have been offered this once in a lifetime opportunity to become Commercial Director at UK Carline.

"I am proud to join the team to help drive the business forward and help build on its success whilst creating opportunities for our colleagues and building on the high standards we provide for our customers.

"I have every confidence that UK Carline will become a market leading business in this sector, and I will be doing all I can to help achieve our goals.”
