Vehicle history check expert HPI has launched a recall check service to help used car buyers to make even safer purchase decisions.

Consumers can find out if a vehicle they are looking to purchase has been officially recalled by the manufacturer.

Ian Rendle (pictured), Cap HPI managing director, said: “Used car buyers can quickly and easily check whether their potential purchase has been recalled by the manufacturer, removing any risk of them driving a vehicle that could have a safety flaw.   Being armed with information that gives you the fullest possible picture on the car you are about to buy is vital in supporting a sound investment and avoiding future financial and emotional heartache.”

The HPI tool is supported by the Society of Motor Manufacturers’ vehicle safety recall data.

Consumers can buy the HPI Recall Check online for £2.99 or add it to HPI Check.

The HPI Check confirms whether a vehicle is currently recorded as stolen with the police, has outstanding finance against it or has been written off.  It also includes as standard, a mileage check against the national mileage register, with over 200 million mileage readings.
