Fix Auto UK has invested directly in one of its own franchisees, acquiring a majority share of one of its repair centres.

The organisation has committed a six-figure sum to Fix Auto Goole, in a move that it says could be the first of many investments of this kind.

Fix Auto Goole will continue to be managed by founders Andy and Lisa Kirk. The investment accelerates their ambitious business plans to further grow and develop the established centre.

Ian Pugh, director of Fix Auto UK (pictured), said: “Fundamentally, Fix Auto UK helps and guides our franchisees. By taking a majority share in Fix Auto Goole we are taking our whole offering to new level never experienced before by the network.

“Andy and Lisa have a great desire to succeed and are passionate about taking their business further but they needed capital. After many discussions we realised there was a great opportunity staring straight back at us and it became obvious to invest ourselves.

“I want to harness true entrepreneurship. Acquiring a majority share of Fix Auto Goole ensures Andy and Lisa are very much still in control but now have greater capital to expand and develop the business. Together, we can increase the service capabilities of the business, which will not only be a positive move for ourselves but also one for our clients and, of course, further strengthens the network which is always paramount to me.”

Fix Auto UK has long wanted its own repair centre, according to Pugh. He said the business wants to work closely with suppliers to develop a training and development academy, to be used as a test bed for new innovations, processes and working practices.
