Campaign for Better Transport is backing a new Smart Transport conference and exhibition launched by Bauer Media, the company behind AM, Fleet News and Rail.

The event, on February 5 at County Hall, London, is planned to connect senior policy makers with the private sector mobility world.

Key conference themes include: the objectives of UK transport policy, planning the short term to deliver the long term, the ethics of smart transport, and collaboration and partnership.

A spokesman said it is the first UK event to focus on real time solutions to the shared challenges facing government and business.

“It is widely recognised that the development of intelligent transport technologies has so far been dominated by multiple distinct verticals, such as smart ticketing and data management systems.

“Smart Transport therefore aims to promote the stronger collaboration between policy makers and key private sector companies that is required to enable greater knowledge transfer between these verticals, and the emergence of practical solutions,” said the Bauer Media spokesman.

Bauer Media’s B2B media division specialises in the rail and automotive markets where it owns market leading print, digital and event businesses including Rail, Rail Review, Fleet News and AM (Automotive Management).
