Witham-based used car dealer Markham & Smith has been the victim of a hit and run after an uninsured motorist drove his Fiat Stilo into four of the dealership’s vehicles.

According to the Clacton Gazette, the vehicle that was abandoned, had no insurance, MoT certificate and was from out of the area.

Jason Tarling, who runs Markham & Smith, said two Ford Fiestas, a Smart car and a Volvo were all damaged to the sum of around £7,000.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Police were contacted shortly before 11.30pm on Tuesday, November 10 with reports of a white Fiat Stilo in collision with parked cars in a garage.

“The occupants of the car left the scene. They are described as aged between 18 and 24 and wearing tracksuits.”
