Online car sales specialist Tootle has launched a new online marketplace that allows dealers to source used cars directly from private sellers.

By matching dealers directly with private sellers, tootle is able to cut out the cost of auctions and car buying services, helping both the dealer and the seller achieve a great price.

Tootle claims that the service also allows specialist used car dealers to access newer cars than they typically receive in part-exchange.

Al Taylor, Tootle CEO, said: “Matching a private seller of a car directly with a dealer who wants to retail that car makes a lot of sense for everyone. We hope we can save dealers and private sellers both time and money through the new service.”

Tootle claims that 77% of the top 100 franchise groups are asking private sellers to sell their vehicles directly to them – regardless of any part-exchange deal.

Using Tootle’s new online resource private sellers are able to create an online tootle profile within minutes and must provide photos of the car along with details of its service history and any damage.

Tootle then supplies a HPI report and MOT history on all vehicles.

Dealers can view sellers’ profiles and make offers on cars they would like to purchase.

These offers are relayed to the private sellers, who will then contact their preferred dealer directly to complete the sale.

Tootle will charge a small commission fee to dealers for each car purchased through the service.
