Hendy Group is set to open its largest used vehicle operation after it has now completed the purchase of Unbeatablecar Portsmouth.

Hendy will hold an opening event on July 1 at Anchorage Road, which has now been rebranded, refurbishes and restocked with up to 500 cars and vans.

The used car and van location is Hendy’s second, joining its used car supermarket site in Exeter. The group has plans to open another used store in Ferndown, Dorset.

Paul Hendy, Hendy Group chief executive said: “This acquisition is part of our ongoing expansion plans and will complement our existing Portsmouth operation which includes successful new and used Ford, Honda, Kia and commercial vehicle sales and servicing.

“In addition to the used cars and vans the site will also offer full car and van servicing facilities with a 20-bay workshop, bodyshop and smart repair.”

The group currently has 12 motor franchises in 25 locations and employs more than 1,000 people in Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey, Kent and Devon.
