Brooklyn Motors, based in Redditch, Worcs, has 16 outlets representing Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Citroen and Skoda. The group, which is also one of 10 dealers with the AC Cars franchise, turns over more than £120m a year.

The homepage design is basic and simple to read, but the overall appearance is messy. There are prominent links to the Citroen, Skoda and Mercedes-Benz sections, but for some reason, the Mercedes link diverts into a separate pop-up window.

In the main Ford area of the site users can arrange a test drive, make a parts enquiry and book a service. The 'service calculator' is useful, allowing visitors to input make and mileage to calculate the cost of a service.

Surprisingly, not all the facilities within the Ford section are available within the Citroen and Skoda areas. The separate Mercedes section has easily the most attractive and sophisticated layout, but the separate window takes a while to load up.

The Skoda section uniquely features a part exchange valuation facility. Users key in the car's details and wait for a response by e-mail. It was disappointing not to find an instant evaluation facility.

This site has a friendly feel, and is useful for basic levels of information like new and used car prices and special offers. But navigation is poor and omits the 'links' needed to move from one area to another.
