Volvo–Drive-E

January 2014

Volvo is starting 2014 with a new pair of engines for several of its model ranges. The D4 is a 2.0-litre turbodiesel with 181bhp and is capable of offering 99g/km CO2 emissions and 74.3mpg in the S60 saloon. It comes with a six-sped manual gearbox and the V60 estate model with the same engine and 17-inch alloy wheels also offers the same economy and emissions. At the other end of the scale, Volvo has come up with a new turbo- and supercharged 2.0-litre petrol engine for its sporty T6 models. This motor musters 306bhp for 0-62mph in 5.9 seconds, yet it also manages 149g/km carbon dioxide emissions and 44.1mpg with help from an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
