Following on from the Enyaq Coupe iV vRS, the new model is the second EV to wear the brand’s performance vRS branding and promises to combine increased practicality with a 299PS power output and the ability to accelerate to 62mph in just 6.5 seconds.

Order books will officially open for the all-wheel-drive Skoda Enyaq iV vRS on January 17, with the first customer deliveries expected to get underway in June 2023.

The EV SUV features a 82kWh (77kWh net) battery with 135kW rapid charging and a quoted WLTP driving range of 321 miles.

Its rapid charging system means an 80% charge can be completed in as little as 36 minutes when connected to a 150kW charger. On a standard 7.2kW home wallbox, a charge from empty to full will take around 13 hours.

The Enyaq iV VRS’s boot is 15 litres larger than that of the Enyaq iV Coupe vRS, at 585 litres, and can be extended to 1,710 litres by folding the rear seats down.

As standard, the performance version of the Enyaq features sports suspension lowered by 15mm at the front and 10mm at the rear.

Drive Mode Select offers the predefined profiles Eco, Normal and Sport, while the driver can also customise settings via a ‘custom slider’ control.

Skoda retailers will be able to offer aerodynamically optimised 20-inch Taurus alloys as standard with larger 21-inch Vision wheels as an option.

Also ensuring the Enyaq iV vRS stands out from its Skoda stablemates are sports bumpers, the Czech brand’s Crystal Face grille, which is illuminated by 131 LEDs, and the option of Hyper Green paint.

Inside, sports seats with black perforated leather seat upholstery and contrast stitching are standard in a cabin equipped with three-zone climate control, LED ambient lighting and a wireless smartphone charging.

Offering connected technology, the Enyaq iV vRS allows the option of optional features that can be added ‘over the air’. In a statement detailing various functions of the car, Skoda said that Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) could be accessed “on demand”.
