Classic Car Auction Specialist
First things first forget about the romance of the job title you will be required to build a reputation for yourself in the extremely competitive and fickle world of classic car auctions and classic car owners which will see you constantly developing relationships with prospective clients at all times of the day and night, dropping everything to travel to the other end of the country or abroad to create opportunities to win and close business
Job Description
The position will act on behalf of our client in the acquisition and sales of classic cars via their showroom in London and auctions in the UK and mainland Europe. You will research cars for sale, build a pipeline of potential sellers and buyers, liaise, and meet with clients, value, and market cars, arrange viewings, and negotiate sales. The value of the cars will be typically be between £20,000 and £2,000,000.
Commissions are uncapped and everything is to play for, whether that be in the UK market, mainland Europe or further afield. Once up to speed this role should earn between £50,000 and £70,000 per year. You will sell cars via a combination of auction sales in the UK and Germany, showroom sales and private treaty brokerage sales of higher value cars.

Details
Basic salary - for entry level sales roles this is set at between £20,000 - £26,000pa, higher for more experienced members of staff
Commission - 10% of the gross profit ex-VAT of sales at either auction or from the showroom
Annual leave - 4 weeks plus days in lieu of weekends worked, holidays to be booked around auction or other major event dates. The office will close over the Christmas period and so this will need to be used from the annual holiday allocation
Probationary period - 3 months
Working hours - 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday (evening and weekend work as and when required)
Company vehicles – Will be provided for the purpose of visiting clients or attending events
Mobile phones - to be provided for work use
Pension - as per statutory contribution
