##Freelander--right##Land Rover has slipped down the ratings (from ninth) but dealers are more confident about future profit potential and about investment by BMW in the business. The problems are mainly structural, such as marketing support and parts supply. Although it is hard to establish true sales figures for Land Rover, because they are bundled into a Rover Group total, it is fair to assume the brand is now taking slightly under 2% market share and has seen a 30% to 40% growth in 1999. In short, without Land Rover Rover Group would be in dire trouble. Freelander remains a best seller, despite well documented warranty problems, but Discovery II is also selling well at a premium price.
