Land Rover is launching a revised used vehicle programme in January to meet rising customer expectations and tie more aftersales business to its 130-strong dealer network.

The new scheme offers an improved warranty, Europe-wide roadside assistance and a 30-day no quibble exchange guarantee through two programmes, Approved and Approved Plus. All vehicles undergo a pre-sales inspection, mileage and history check.

##Land Rover warranty--left## Land Rover Approved Plus covers vehicles that have up to 45,000 miles on the clock, while Approved covers vehicles of up to 60,000 miles. Both schemes carry at least 12 months' warranty, made up of the balance of the Land Rover warranty topped up by the Approved plans, and 120,000-mile all-component cover.

European-wide assistance, which brings vehicles back to the UK, will help to bind customers to the dealer network for repair business, no matter where their vehicles break down. UK managing director Mike Wright said ownership of used Land Rovers was becoming more commonplace, buoyed by the manufacturer's widening model range and growing consumer interest in off-roaders and sports utility vehicles.

“Land Rover Approved is a programme that meets the expectations of our customers by offering a Land Rover in peak condition and covered by a comprehensive warranty package,” said Mr Wright. “The 30 day no quibble return policy offers extra security.”

What Car? praised Land Rover in its latest Good used car dealer guide for introducing “much-needed improvements” and “respectability” to its revised used approved scheme. It rated the scheme 14th (with four-stars) out of the 32 programmes reviewed.
