Paisner & Co, a leading e-business law firm, has launched a service to enable manufacturers and dealers operating on the internet to comply with strict new data protection rules introduced in March.

The collection of personal data about individuals (e.g. name, contact details, type of car sought) is protected under the Data Protection Act 1998. As individuals become more aware of their rights, dealers using that information will come under increasing pressure to respect privacy regulations.

The new complytoday.com service can be bought over the internet and is split into five modules each costing £100. Dealers only need buy the module or modules relevant to the way in which they process customer information.
