Dixon Motors has been awarded the franchise for its fourth Volkswagen dealership in recognition of its sales success and customer satisfaction at its existing dealerships in Bradford, Louth and Grimsby.

The Automotive Management award winning group has acquired the former DC Cook dealership in Newark Road, Lincoln.

Dixon will continue to operate from the existing premises, although plans are already underway to relocate to a new £5m development site in Tritton Road later this year. Planning for the site, which will also comprise a further car dealership, a washshop, a vehicle body repair centre and provide up to 100 jobs, was given planning approval on January 15, 2001.

Andy Cope, former manager of Dixon VW Grimsby and now responsible for the Lincoln site, said: "Lincoln is an important site for us and, as with Grimsby, where we now operate six franchises, we see the city as a critical opportunity for the company's growth."

Dixon won the large dealer group category in the AM Awards 2000.
