DaimlerChrysler Services Remarketing has opened a physical auction facility at its Long Marston de-fleeting and remarketing centre in Warwickshire, adding to its internet auction and stock locator services.

The auction facility, presently operating on a fortnightly basis, enables DaimlerChrysler Services Remarketing to offer leasing companies “all routes to market from one location”, said national sales manager Mark Thomas.

“We hope to offer all makes and ages of car through the physical auction, but especially older vehicles,” he said.

“The business is in a central location and we have a good product mix which is attracting dealers from across the country.”

Mr Thomas intends to gear up the business for a weekly auction. The site also offers PDI, repairs and valeting services, ensuring dealers can source cars in a 'ready to retail' condition.

Craig Elliott, remarketing director at DaimlerChrysler Services Remarketing, said: “We are able to provide a one-stop shop resource and we are proving that internet and physical auction routes can be complementary in the vehicle remarketing process.

“There is huge potential for development at Long Marston and our strategies are ensuring we get the best from this facility.”
