Pinewood, the dealer management systems supplier, is enjoying booming sales this year, despite not yet releasing its internet module.

Neville Briggs, Pinewood managing director, said the business was being stretched to cope with demand: “Sales are currently running 25% above what they were last year.” Market changes, with several larger dealer management system suppliers falling out of the market, was leaving a gap for Pinewood to fill, said Mr Briggs.

Pinewood's internet module, which is in the final stages of development, will include full dealer management facilities.

Despite this, Mr Briggs was keen to stress that “the internet is only an add-on to the business”. He said it required good use of dealership staff to capitalise on leads from the web.
