DaimlerChrysler UK Ltd has appointed Ewan Ramsay as general manager, Mercedes-Benz passenger car sales.

Mr Ramsay's career started as a graduate with Ford Europe. Then, he spent 13 years working with Volvo in various roles including managing director of Volvo Ireland, before joining the company's UK division as marketing manager. As well as running a Peugeot dealership, Mr Ramsay was general manager, aftersales for Honda UK and managing director of Volkswagen Australia. He said: "My role is to continue the growth pattern of the brand in the UK, and to be part of the increased focus in meeting, and exceeding customer demands." Mr Ramsay succeeds Bernard Kuhnt, who has moved on to Mercedes-Benz in the US.
