Richard Gadeselli has been appointed chief executive of Fiat UK Limited, the company that co-ordinates Fiat Group activities in the UK on behalf of Fiat SpA, the parent holding company headquartered in Turin, Italy.

He takes up the position as a result of what the company calls 'a slight change of management structure', which came about as a result of chairman Massimo Carello leaving the company in April.

Mr Gadeselli joined Fiat in 1987 as head of corporate communications in the Fiat SpA UK representative office in London. He moved to Turin in 1994 as vice president of international media relations for Fiat Auto SpA with responsibility for the Fiat, Lancia and Alfa Romeo automotive brands. He was also director of communications for luxury car manufacturer Maserati SpA.

He returned to London in 1997 as heead of Corporate Affairs at Fiat UK with responsibility for the UK, Eire and Commonwealth countries.

In addition to co-ordinating Fiat Group activities in Britain, Fiat UK also provides corporate affairs, financial management, legal and personnel services to Fiat Group companies throughout Britain and Eire.
