A nationwide workshop equipment installation and preventative maintenance service has been established by Texaco Global Products.

Controlled by business partners John Prout and Peter Verity and operating from Bradford, Texaco Equipment Services (TES) has a team of 15 installation and service engineers.

Its core business is supplying, servicing, repairing and calibrating garage equipment on a contract basis, the starting point of which is an equipment health check.

TES offers contracted customers attendance on site within 24 hours of a reported problem and aims to have equipment working within 48 hours.

Mr Prout said: “Workshop profits are very vulnerable to equipment failures – a single ramp out of action loses hundreds, sometimes thousands of pounds. The ImechE has calculated that the payback on techniques like preventative maintenance is £40 for every £1 spent, and those figures match my experience.

“We have joined up with Texaco to bring the benefits of competitively priced preventative maintenance to the aftermarket workshop.” (November 5, 2001)
