Toyota pre-registered the highest number of vehicles in November, according to figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.

The carmaker pre-registered 16 vehicles, with a total sales value of £260,111, out of a total for the month of 54. Ford pre-registered 15 (£148,492), Hyundai 12 (£122,000), Vauxhall 5 (£44,761), Honda 5 (£52,000) and Citroen one (£8,395).

The Supply of New Cars Order 2000 requires manufacturers to publish the number of pre-registered cars supplied each month and the gross income received by suppliers from selling them. (December 24, 2001)
