Family owned dealership B S Marson & Sons of Newcastle-under-Lyme, has been awarded the title of 'Masters of Distinction 2000' in an on-going national dealer development programme run by Fiat Auto (UK) for Fiat and Alfa Romeo outlets.

Measured over a 12-month period across a number of key business practices, including customer service and product knowledge, the 12 dealership finalists, numbering 170 employees in all, were recently invited to Bosworth Hall Hotel for a busy weekend of team-building pursuits and driving activities at nearby Mallory Park race circuit.

The weekend culminated in a presentation ceremony, at which Andy Rowe, commercial director of Fiat Auto (UK), presented the top award to John Marson, dealer principal of B S Marson & Sons, and his team.

Mr Rowe said: "I believe that this is a just reward for all the hard work, not only during the Distinction programme, but also for years of dedicated customer service which my team has provided."

Despite difficulties for the majority of the motor industry during 2000, last year was B S Marson & Sons' most successful commercial period in over 40 years of trading, and this outstanding performance is a testament to the success of Fiat Auto's Distinction .

Distinction 2001 offers even greater scope for development, and additional benefits for all participants. Included is a year's subscription to publications from Sewells Information and Research.
