CarsAlive has launched a website specialising in the sale of approved used cars from franchised dealers to private buyers.

The site www.carsalive. com offers access to more than 26,000 cars from nearly 900 dealers across the UK. Dealers pay £20 a week subscription fee, but are not charged for sales leads or admin. There is also no cancellation fee.

Toby Thompson, CarsAlive managing director, said: “Buyers have every reason to use CarsAlive – they are guaranteed confidence, choice, convenience and control. Authorised dealers receive free enquiries from new and used car buyers, plus additional calls from customers looking to service or repair their vehicles or purchase insurance or finance.”

CarsAlive acts as a facilitator, taking no part in the sales process. It provides links to dealer websites for details on aftersales, warranties and finance. The company also offers links to bodyshops – independent and franchised – and provides dealer information on car hire, security, insurance and accessories at no cost.

Carrie Bird, CarsAlive head of business development, said dealers were welcome to undertake a two-week, no obligation trial.

“We are receiving positive feedback from dealers,” she said. “We designed the site to meet their needs and the needs of buyers by cutting out the middleman. Dealers can put whatever stock they wish onto the site as long as it is manufacturer approved, which eliminates risk and uncertainty for buyers.”

The public can also sell cars to dealers. “Finding stock can be a problem for dealers – allowing people to put their own cars on the site will help,” added Ms Bird.
