International Motors has appointed 10 new Daihatsu dealers since taking over the franchise last year - with a further 10 expected to be operational by the end of 2001.

The upsurge in interest in the brand comes on the back of a product-led revival beginning last autumn with the launch of the revised Terios 4x4, followed by the facelifted Sirion and then the YRV in March.

Paul Hegarty, IM's franchise development manager, said: "It is a vote of confidence in both the exciting new cars now entering the marketplace and in our determination to offer customers a convenient, caring and highly competent dealer network."

Daihatsu's new dealer appointments are: Simpsons of Swindown, Charles Warner, Lincoln, Ace Kensington, London, Morrisons, Stirling, John Gill, Killinghall, North Yorkshire, Barretts of Canterbury, Town and Country, Perth, Border Cars, Dumfries, TWG Northwich, Cheshire, Harwoods, Billinghurst, West Sussex.

Daihatsu has open points in Basingstoke, Bedford, Cambridge, Cheltenham/Gloucester, Coventry, Doncaster, Ipswich, Leicester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Peterborough, Reading, Slough, Southampton, Swansea and York.
