Vauxhall has boosted the load-carrying capacity of the Combo van for its launch in the autumn.

At 170 inches/4,323mm, the new Combo is 3.7 inches/93mm longer than its predecessor and the wheelbase has been expanded by 9.5 inches/236mm to 106.9 inches/2.7 metres.

The load area now has a maximum volume of 3,200 litres and a payload capacity of 810kg and maximum trailer load of 1,200kg.

The load platform is 68 inches/1.78 metres long and 53 inches/1.38 metres wide, making it large enough to carry Euro-pallets thanks to the two rear double-doors reaching the roof.

Two sliding doors are available as options.

Car-like features aimed at boosting comfort and security include air conditioning, electric windows, central locking and optional CD player, navigation system and hands-free GSM phone.

The Combo will be available with a 1.6-litre petrol engine (32mpg combined cycle), 1.7-litre 65PS and 75PS turbo-diesels (48.7mpg).
