Co-Op Motor Group has announced plans to move to a new head office. The group, part of Ilkeston Consumer Co-Op and located on Wharncliffe Road in Ilkeston, has bought the former police station for an undisclosed six-figure sum.

The building will house up to 60 staff and will be restored and refurbished by December.

The group has the Peugeot and Nissan franchises in Ilkeston.

Chris Elvidge, Co-Op Motor Group managing director, said: "This is the latest in a long line of significant investments in the East Midlands. Over the last 12 months we have spent millions of pounds improving the facilities on our forecourts. This latest move enables Co-Op Motor Group to further enhance its customer service offering by streamlining the administrative processes in car buying."
