Betta Special Waste has won a 12-month contract to cut disposal costs at Vauxhall franchise operations in Worcester, Malvern and Tipton. As part of the deal Betta will remove all service, bodyshop and paintshop special waste from Bicknells' three Vauxhall sites to its own recycling and storage facility in Worcester.

Bicknells has recommended the service to the cost reduction team at General Motors for consideration by other Vauxhall dealerships. “We are committed to storing and disposing of waste responsibly to comply with legislative requirements,” says Bicknells managing director John Bicknell. “We were also impressed with the savings potential on our existing arrangements as a result of Betta collecting from all three sites.”

Betta's Mark Jenkins says the move is a matter of common business sense. “Companies with more than one site have the potential to cut waste disposal costs by using a flexible service offering scheduled and emergency pick-ups,” he says.

Betta offers price reduction for fixed contracts to collect from more than one location. It operates daily collections from garages and bodyshops across the Midlands, South Wales and the South west.
