Catch a 200

With early Rover 25 1.4i models fetching around £5k, what price for a cheap pre-facelift Rover 200?

A 96P 214i with 33,000 miles is around £3k at a Rover franchise. However, cars at non-franchised dealers offer real value. Si models are better equipped. A 30,000-mile 98S five-door is £6k with 30,000 miles; a 35,000-mile 98S 220 SDi diesel is the same price. The potent 145 bhp 200vi is the performance choice, and retailing at around £6k on 98R it's affordable, too.

But remember that a full Rover service history is important, especially on the high-performance vi models.
