Howard Basford has sold two of their sites at Warwick and Bromsgrove to Impact Repair Centres Ltd for an undisclosed sum. The sites were too small to synergise with the crash repairer, which was the subject of a management buyout in October last year.

Basford's MD Neil Kirk said the sites would have required upwards of £3m investment in order to bring their scale in line with the company's portfolio of bodyshops – money which was not available following the MBO and Ford's withdrawal from the business.

The two sites are a good fit for Impact, however. The company is building a network of workshops in the South Midlands.
