Showing an increase of 35.04% from a year ago, China's total vehicle output hit 4,005,300 units during the first 11 months of the year, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. Passenger cars continued to be the biggest growth engine, with output surging by 83.74% year-on-year to 1,801,100 units.

"Total vehicle output this year will be more than 4.35 million units," Zhu Yiping, a spokesperson of the auto association, told China Daily.

Total vehicle output in China last year was 3.25 million units, including some 1.10 million passenger cars. In November alone, total vehicle output increased by 33.54% from last year and 12.78% from October, to 411,600 units. Passenger car output in November reached a record high of 195,000 units, up 70.80% from a year ago, and up 17.15 per cent from October this year.

Sales in China of domestically produced new vehicles totalled 3,917,500 units during the first 11 months of this year, an increase of 31.25% from the corresponding period of last year.
