The company is also trying to create direct supply links with vehicle manufacturers to make the most of post block exemption opportunities.
The group's second site, near Mansfield, is an existing outlet built, but never opened, by rival car supermarket chain Car Group, which collapsed in 1999.
Ian Allen, managing director, says the Mansfield site, which can stock 1000 cars, gives the company access to the east Midlands and the M1 corridor including Derby, Nottingham, Leicester, Leeds and Sheffield. Motorhouse 2000, which specialises in selling new and imported cars at European prices, already stocks 1000 cars with a similar amount on forward order. It expects to sell about 200 units a week when the new site is fully operational.
The company is planning to open an outlet in the south-west next year. Planning permission has been granted and work is ready to start.
