Automotive News reports that Ford in the USA is setting up a 40-strong advisory committee of technicians including selected dealer technicians, to head off disputes over warranty repair times. Overall these have reportedly been cut by 24% over the past few years, resulting in some technicians seeking union representation in dealer workshops.

Ford's vice president of customer service told the paper a new issue of warranty procedures was being delayed for a month to November to give the committee time to review the planned changes and test repair times.
