David Coop, Citroen's new network development director, is looking to fill 37 open points this year, targeting retailers who are “good at new, used, private, fleet and LCVs”.

The new dealers will be a balance of plcs, regionals and owner-operators, and will take the network close to 300 outlets. “We need to develop our dealers so they focus on every aspect of the business – we want to help them improve their performance,” says Coop. He says the initiative is intended to maximise business opportunities in the wake of changes to block exemption.

Coop is replaced as sales director by Simon Monahan, former retail group director. A long-serving Citroen employee, Monahan has held various roles in both retail and fleet areas that have given him a wealth of experience to draw on in his new role. He will oversee the launch of a range of products like the C4, a 4x4 C3 and the new C6.

“This is a very exciting time for Citroen as we work to consolidate our position among the top six best selling manufacturers in the UK and build upon our sales success of recent years,” says Monahan.

“New products together with innovative campaigns such as our 'VAT free' offer will ensure that we continue to progress.”
