Sam Burton, the managing director of Subaru and Isuzu UK, is set to leave the company at the end of November. Burton, who has been with IM Group since 1992, has been offered the post of automotive director at Mondial Assistance (UK).

The role will put Burton (47) in charge of a division which provides a range of customer management and warranty services for clients throughout the UK motor industry.

“This new position gives me the opportunity to extend the skills and experience gained at the IM Group over the last 12 years,” says Burton.

His initial role at IM Group was heading the company’s in-house finance business, before being appointed sales director at Subaru (UK) and Isuzu (UK) in 1995. In 2000 he became managing director of both companies.

Burton says the move will provide him with an opportunity to work with vehicle manufacturers and dealer groups on adding value to their customer service offerings.

IM Group is expected to announce a replacement for Burton this month.
