Phoenix Venture Holdings Limited has appointed Nigel Petrie as a non- executive director. In this new role, Petrie will establish and chair an audit committee and a remuneration committee. He will also serve as a non- executive director on the board of MG Rover Group Limited.

Since 1997, Petrie has been chairman of Dedicated Microcomputers Group, a manufacturer and supplier of electronic security equipment.

He has experience of business management, including working with the Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric project in Australia. He was HR director at the National Grid Company, now National Grid Transco, until 1993 when he was appointed general manager, then managing director of First Hydro Company.
