Charles Milne’s Regency group has acquired the former Arnold Clark dealership in Elgin in a £2.6 million investment deal that includes a full refurbishment and rebrand as a flagship MG dealership.

Located at Linkwood Place, the dealership - formerly home to Arnold Clark’s Renault and Dacia showroom - sits prominently along the A96 and includes a reception, office space, staff and customer facilities, a five-bay workshop, and valet bays.

The site will be transformed into a MG dealership, with space for up to 80 quality used vehicles, as Milne continues to expand his presence in the north of Scotland’s motor retail sector.

“This acquisition demonstrates my continued commitment and investment in the local motor trade,” Milne, managing director of Regency, told The Press & Journal. “I’m proud to be expanding our footprint with the purchase of our sixth motor trade site.”

The investment includes both the purchase and a full redevelopment of the facility, which will operate under the Regency Elgin name. The expansion is part of a broader growth strategy, which includes the development of a new purpose-built showroom adjacent to the current Regency Elgin site.

Milne, who began his career as a qualified motor vehicle engineer, founded Regency Car Sales in 1993. Since then, he has built a portfolio of dealerships including Regency Buckie and Moravian Motors.
