East Anglian retail group Desira has put almost £2m investment into its new showroom opening in Norwich next Friday (August 6) in order to offer the latest facilities and technology for the city’s Nissan drivers.

The Vulcan Road site, which was acquired at the end of last year, will have a showroom containing 10 vehicles, and a forecourt with space for 100 additional new and used Nissans, together with a staff training suite and offices for the group’s marketing and human resources departments.

Earlier this year Desira revealed a growth strategy that is designed to double its £75m turnover.

Already this year it has acquired the Citroen franchise for Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft, developed that site into a multi-franchise showroom including Nissan and Fiat, and bought self-drive hire firm Abacus.

“These strategic and carefully selected acquisitions will continue to ensure that the Desira Group maintains its market leading position and achieves its aggressive growth strategy,” says a spokes-man for the company.
