The opening of a £4m Brindley Honda dealership in Birmingham this month has ended a period of more than 30 years without the carmaker’s presence in the city centre.

Within the first two weeks the dealership recorded more than 30 sales, putting it on track for 600-700 units in its first 12 months, says dealer principal Chris Adams.

“I’d like to reach £1m turnover per month,” he says. “That is our target, and it’s achievable – other Brindley sites manage it.”

The site is owned by Honda and leased by Brindley in a similar arrangement to Chiswick Honda, run by Norton Way in West London. It includes a two-level showroom with space for 35 cars, and a further 40 used cars in stock at any one time, plus it will also sell products from Honda’s entire range, from lawnmowers and generators to all-terrain vehicles. Brindley now has five Honda dealerships across the Midlands, with a group used vehicle stock exceeding 700 units.

Adams says the showroom’s location on Summer Hill Road makes it ideal for customers wishing to leave their car for servicing and maintenance while they head into the city centre.

Those who prefer to wait can take the opportunity to learn more about the Honda brand, as the showroom includes a display area dedicated to the company’s history.
