Volkswagen has introduced a new model to the Golf range, slotting in below the GT TDI / GT FSI models. The Golf Sport will be available with 1.6 FSI and 1.9 TDI engines.

The new model has lowered sports suspension, front sports seats, 16" alloy wheels and body-coloured bump and side strips.

The Golf Sport sits alongside the Golf SE, offering customers extra equipment over the S model.

This includes a multifunction computer; alarm with interior protection; climatic semi-automatic air conditioning, leather-trimmed three-spoke steering wheel, gear knob, gaiter and handbrake grip and a 10-speaker radio/CD player.

The Golf’s list of standard equipment includes ABS with ESP (Electronic Stabilisation Programme); six airbags; electric front windows; electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors; and remote central locking.

Prices for the Golf range start at £11,995 RRP on the road for the 1.4-litre S model with three doors. Full Golf Sport prices are shown below.
