Insurer and vehicle manufacturer activity, bodyshop profitability and systems houses in relation to estimating are just a few of the industry issues that will be debated at the launch of the new Retail Motor Industry Federation bodyshop advisory group.

Jeff Mack, the RMI's head of bodyshop and vehicle recovery services, said: 'The objective for this new RMI group is to provide efficient, organised, two-way communication between the RMI and its members. They will be our 'eyes and ears' at the sharp end, enabling the federation to drive forward the most up to date agenda for the benefit of the industry as a whole.

'We plan to hold three meetings a year, with a minimum of two RMI members from each of our six geographical regions, incorporating representatives from all types of bodyshop - groups, independents, and large and small franchised dealers.

'Additional industry specialists will be invited to specific meetings when required.'
