Mazda has introduced a new initiative to its dealer network, the obsolete parts programme in line with its ‘fix it right first time’ commitment to increase customer satisfaction.

This programme has been developed to enable Mazda dealers to offer their slowest moving parts for re-sale via a national clearance centre (NCC). It also allows other Mazda dealers to purchase these parts from the NCC at a discounted price.

"Following the introduction of new models Mazda6, Mazda2, Mazda3 and Mazda RX-8, Mazda has a much wider product range than two years ago meaning dealers need to stock more parts," says Adam Pumfrey, aftersales director for Mazda Motors UK.

"Thanks to excellent reliability Mazda owners keep their vehicles for many years, this means dealers need to continue to repair older models which adds to the amount of parts on site. Hanging onto slow-moving parts has a cost implication for the dealer as the lack of spare storage space impacts on their ability to store faster-moving lines. The obsolete parts programme allows Mazda dealers to clear their shelves, as well as benefiting from increased revenue and profit, improved parts availability and a higher stock turn."

By participating in the obsolete parts programme Mazda dealers selling parts will receive up to 50% back in revenue and create more storage space.

Mazda dealers buying obsolete parts from the NCC save 20% on the cost which may then be passed onto the customer.
