Capital ChryslerJeep is due to go into administration with the loss of around 60 jobs.

The business, which opened in February when Clive Sutton pulled out of conventional franchised sales to set up Premier Marques, has boarded up its London dealerships in Colindale and Balham, and stock has been removed. The aftersales operation in Kingsbury has also closed. Capital managing director Tim Waite was unavailable for comment.

One member of staff, who asked not to be named, says: “We are still waiting to be told – nobody knows what is going on.”

Sutton, once the UK’s most successful Chrysler dealer, retained a stake in Capital. “It was a bit of a shock to learn that Capital has closed. I have not been in touch with the business for a while and don’t know what happened. My concern is for the customers and we will try to look after them as best we can,” he says.
