Chrysler has given its PT Cruiser a facelift for 2006.

The new hatchback and cabriolet models have been restyled inside and out.

Exterior changes include smoother front and rear fascias and re-styled headlamps, new circular front fog lamps and a body colour spoiler.

The new PT Cruiser hatchback is available in the UK now with 150bhp 2.2-litre CRD and 141bhp 2.4-litre petrol engines. Prices for the Chrysler PT Cruiser Hatchback start at £12,995 on-the-road for the 2.4 manual and £15,325 OTR for the automatic. Prices for the diesel manual start at £14,225 OTR.

To mark the launch of the restyled PT Cruiser, Chrysler has launched a limited edition ‘Route 66’ version.

The ‘Route 66’ is based on the Touring model and is only available in black or solar yellow.

Additional features include 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, lowered sports suspension, large rear spoiler, body coloured grille, chrome exhaust and solar yellow coloured brake callipers.
