A new system launched by the company behind Auto Trader will allow dealers to display their entire stock around the clock on screens inside their showrooms.

The Dealer Stock Display System (DSDS) from Trader Media Group can display data-driven marketing information, photos and video content through plasma screens, LCD monitors or TV screens. It uses software and technology similar to TV production facilities.

Craig Stevens, TMG’s digital commercial director, says dealer groups could display all of their used car stock through one system, not just the stock held at that particular site. “It gives the dealer a solution which provides up-to-date, real-time content to help drive sales,” adds Stevens.

DSDS runs off a dealer signage player which contains design templates and a database of car data. This can connect to the internet to update the data supplied from participating dealers.
