More Government help for MG Rover

MG Rover has been granted a partial national insurance and income tax holiday by the Government to keep the troubled carmaker in business, reports the FT.

The manufacturer has been given the tax break to help ease off financial problems until the joint venture deal with Shanghai Automotive is fully up and running.

The FT puts the amount of tax deferred at approximately £40m.
