Blue Bell BMW of Wilmslow has put out a request to find the very first car it sold in April 1975.

The car and its current owner will receive a free service, valet and a week on display in its showroom as part of Blue Bell's 30th anniversary celebrations.

"We often forget that even as relatively recently as 1975 there were few computerised records anywhere in the world, so we have no records at all of orders, sales or registrations in our first week in business 30 years ago," says Sue Brownson OBE, managing director of Blue Bell.

"We'd love to know what has happened to the very first BMW we sold, but we have absolutely no way of knowing what its registration number might be or where its owner is living," she added.

"We're are also looking for any BMWs bought from us in April 1975, and the earliest surviving intact and road-legal car will receive our celebratory treatment.”
