MG Rover is to appoint PricewaterhouseCoopers as administrators at 2pm today.

PwC is then expected to make a statement on the future of the Midlands' company.

An MG Rover statement reads: "The board of directors has met with PricewaterhouseCoopers this morning. The directors are taking the necessary steps to appoint administrators from PwC for MG Rover Group and Powertrain."

Employees have been told to come to work as normal on Monday - although the company has said it will not be able to pay them beyond Monday afternoon when there will be another update from PwC.
